Customs & duties

Kahgez handles export documentation, Antiquities Act clearance (where applicable) and packaging. Import duties at the destination are paid by the buyer — we provide a duty estimate at checkout for transparency.

Antiquities Act, 1972

India's Antiquities and Art Treasures Act, 1972 restricts the export of certain pieces older than 100 years. Where a piece is restricted, Kahgez files for an export permit on your behalf, which can add 3–6 weeks to the timeline. You will be told upfront if a piece is restricted.
