A letter from the curator

We did not start Kahgez to sell furniture. We started it because the Indian antique trade was failing the collector — provenance fuzzy, prices opaque, the most exquisite pieces either invisible online or being sold as decorative reproductions at heritage prices.

Every piece on Kahgez is sourced through a vetted atelier or estate, authenticated against a 23-point provenance review, photographed in our Pinjore studio, and accompanied by a handwritten note from the curator who acquired it. We document the era, the maker, the material, the journey. We refund anything misrepresented for the life of the object.

This is not a bazaar. It is a private room — for buyers who want the right object, not the right price.

Our standards

Three things every
Kahgez piece carries.

Documented provenance

Every piece passes a 23-point review — material analysis, era authentication, estate or atelier attribution. You receive a Lifetime Authenticity Guarantee that refunds the full purchase price if any piece is later proven misrepresented.

White-glove delivery

Insured, fine-art-grade transit across India and to UAE, UK, US, Singapore, Australia and Canada. Climate-controlled storage, custom crating, optional in-home installation for orders above ₹2,50,000.

Editorial curation

Less than 5% of submissions are accepted. Each piece is photographed in our Pinjore studio with a handwritten provenance note signed by the acquiring curator — the object's voice, preserved.
