About this object

The Atelier Chair speaks two design languages simultaneously and refuses to choose between them. Hand-welded blackened iron frame with tapered legs meets warm Cognac tan leather — diamond-quilted on both the fixed back panel and generous loose seat cushion. This is contemporary Indian industrial craft tradition channeled through mid-century modernist clarity, from a Chandigarh design studio that understands furniture as both portfolio and provenance. The frame is powder-coated blackened iron, hand-welded with tapered legs that narrow to a point with the confidence of architect-designed furniture. The leather is diamond-quilted and hand-stitched with the precision of Jodhpur's three-hundred-year saddle-making tradition. Solid wood arm rails wrapped in the same tan leather soften the iron geometry without apologising for it. Concealed metal bracket joinery keeps the lines clean. This is a chair for dining tables that deserve serious sitting. For home studios. For restaurants that know the right chair is half the atmosphere. From a limited prototype run of eight — four went to a Bombay restaurant, this one stayed. A collector piece that works every day.
